San Diego...Trade first pick?

Whats up everyone! Even though the team needs a safety, inside linebacker, defensive end, and a right tackle, is it worth trading their first pick? All teams have specific needs, but the Chargers aren't exactly in bad shape. Maybe trading down from the No. 16 spot to picks 5, 6, or 7, which could be done to dismantle a team trying to get their hands on a star player is what they see as strategy. However, is this really the way to play the game when the Chargers are one of the best teams in the NFL right now? Since they are interested in players like USC linebacker Rey Maualuga or LSU defensive end Tyson Jackson but how necessary is this? They aren't exactly struggling. The Chargers are either looking into the future without Ladanian Tomlinson or are being plain greedy. I think the overall "game plan" is selfish. Is this how you think the NFL should be represented? It makes no sense to further the gap between teams. what happened to competitive teams all at a reasonable level? Or is that just unrealistic! That's all for today in the Life with Lizard!
